Homemade Pancit Recipe

Have a craving for Filipino food?

Here’s Marie’s favorite Pancit recipe!

Pancit ala Marie

Ingredients:

1 pack vermicelli noodles

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 onion (sliced)

Cooked chicken breast (shredded)

1 cup snow peas

1 medium carrot (julienned- cut in strips)

2 cups cabbage (chopped)

Green onion (for garnishing)

1 tsp black pepper

3 tbsp cooking oil

1 tbsp sesame oil (optional)

¼ cup soy sauce

Salt to taste

4 cups water/chicken broth

1 chicken cube/bouillon or 1 tsp chicken powder

Procedure:

1.       Add the cooking oil to a pan and heat it.

2.       Add the garlic and onions and sauté them in the oil.

3.       Add the chicken. Cook until lightly browned. Season with black pepper,
soy sauce and the chicken cube/powder.

4.       Add the water or the broth (where you cooked the chicken). Bring it to a
boil.

5.       Add the carrots, snow peas and cabbage. Let it boil once then gather the
vegetables from the broth and set aside.

6.      While broth is boiling, add the
noodles. Stir.

7.      Continue stirring till the noodles
absorbed all the broth.

8.      Add the set-aside
vegetables. Mix everything thoroughly.

9.      Scoop the dish onto a
platter.

10.  Garnish it with spring
onions. Serve while it’s hot!
